Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)” is infamous for being quoted in Kurt Cobain’s suicide letter. But, did you know it was inspired by Devo? 

Here’s Devo and Young performing the track in 1982 for the largely forgotten movie “Human Highway”.

It also may be the only track that ties together Oasis, REM (“The One I Love” is a rewrite) and Def Leppard (“Rock of Ages” opens with the lines “I got something to say / It’s better to burn out than fade away”).
